Join Mandal Rotary in the Fight Against Plastic Pollution!
Mandal Rotary Club is taking action against plastic pollution as one of our target projects. As a coastal town, we witness firsthand the impact of plastic waste on our marine environment. Plastic doesn’t disappear – it accumulates, threatening wildlife, ecosystems, and livelihoods. That’s why we’ve launched a local initiative as part of Norway’s national efforts with Hold Norge Rent (Keep Norway Clean) and Rene Havner (Clean Harbors).
Our project is about more than just picking up litter. It’s about awareness, community, and lasting impact.
What We Do:
- Organize clean-up tools in the harbor and the forest areas around Mandal.
- Collaborate with local partners like the town council, the port authority and other volunteers.
- Spread knowledge about plastic pollution and practical solutions.
- If you want to join the statistics, you can register your findings through official platforms like ryddenorge.no.
How Can You Help:
- Please use our provided tools for collecting the plastic you see in the ocean or forest, and place the tool back after use.
- Be aware of risks, and think safety first (especially in the harbor area).
A Sea of Possibilities
Clean shores and harbors are essential for nature, outdoor life, and local pride. Real change starts small – with one person, one bag of trash, one hour of effort. But together, we can create something bigger.
